Despite the classification as a cultural monument in 1963, the church was so neglected that the roof collapsed in 1988. Thanks to the municipality the church was gradually reconstructed. A unique feature is the glazed roof, which was installed in 2015.
In the renovated sacristy a small museum was established, which informs about the local history, especially about the Sudeten Germans, who lived here for centuries. On display are personal belongings of the former inhabitants, a model of the church as well as uniforms and sabres from the Napoleonic Wars.
